Source: HiBid/ Dean’s Auctions LLC (Fayetteville, AR). Lot #117, vintage ribbon-winning handmade doll in crochet wedding dress (18″), encased. According to the auctioneer, the March 23 sale features items from “….a lovely lady who loved making dolls and doll clothing.”
The auction of the week is Monday, March 23, with a starting time of 11:55 am. It’s hosted by Dean’s Auctions LLC in Fayetteville, AR, and boasts approximately 1,635 lots. The broker premium is 13.5%.
All photos are from HiBid/ Dean’s Auctions LLC.
I was drawn to this one because of the auctioneer’s description of the seller as “….a lovely lady who loved making dolls and doll clothing.” The text goes on to say that she served as president of the Northwest Arkansas Heirloom Doll Club.
There are numerous lots with brand-name collectible dolls, such as American Girl, Barbie, Paulinette, Raggedy Ann/ Andy and more.
My favorite is one she made herself, entered in Fayetteville’s Washington County Fair, and came away with first and second place ribbons. I can’t imagine how many hours – and how much talent and love – went into crafting the gorgeous bride in her crochet wedding dress. Absolutely stunning!
It perplexes me that, as of press time on March 22, this gorgeous handmade work of art had no bids. Opening minimum bid is $3.
Lot #117 (rear view), first and second place ribbons on handmade doll (see above) from the Washington County Fair in Fayetteville, AR.
Lot #130, assorted handmade ribbon-winning cloth animals.
More examples of the “lovely lady’s” ribbon winning work in the form of cloth critters.
Lot #159, close-up of one craft pattern in multi-item lot
Lot #159, assortment of craft sewing patterns
There are multiple lots with a collection of vintage sewing patterns (appears to be craft patterns only; no clothing patterns that I could see other than costumes). Lot #159 had no bids at press time; opening bid is $3.
Lot #74, “Naughty Nodder blonde lady with moving legs ashtray.”
I’d not seen this particular type of ashtray, and I like her sense of humor having this in her collection.
On March 22 at press time, the high bid on this quirky ashtray was $21. Next bid = $24.
Best wishes if you bid. Enjoy browsing!
